Switzerland participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 in Turin, Italy, having internally selected Marius Bear to represent the country with the song "Boys Do Cry", written by Bear himself and Martin Gallop. Bear was announced by the Swiss broadcaster to represent Switzerland with "Boys Do Cry" on 8 March 2022. Switzerland was drawn to compete in the first semi-final of the Eurovision Song Contest which took place on 10 May 2022. Performing during the show in position 4, "Boys Do Cry" was announced among the top 10 entries of the first semi-final and hence qualified to compete in the final. In the final, Switzerland placed 17th with 78 points, all from the juries. It was later revealed that the country placed 9th in the semi-final with 118 points.
